1. Introduction

Welcome to the Face the Music App privacy policy! This policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a safe and enjoyable experience.

2. Information Collected

We collect the following types of information:

• Email and password: Users have to provide email and password to create an account.
• Display Name: Users can choose a display name to be shown on the leaderboard. This is not linked to any personal information.
• Audio Recordings: Users can record audio clips of music for recognition purposes. These recordings are transferred to our servers for evaluation of music recognition algorithms and then sent to a third-party music recognition service provider. You can always request the deletion of all your audio clips (see section 5).

3. How Data is Used

• Email and password: Email and password are used for login only. They are not displayed anywhere. Email address is also used to confirm your deletion requests. We do not send any other email to the address that you provide.
• Display Name: Your chosen display name is used to show your position on the leaderboard and recognize your achievements within the game.
• Audio Recordings: The audio recordings are used for music recognition within the app. We use them to evaluate and improve our music recognition algorithms to provide a better user experience. We also transfer them to a third-party music recognition service provider to identify the music you recorded.

4. Data Sharing

We share your audio recordings with a third-party music recognition service provider solely for the purpose of identifying the music you recorded. This provider is contractually obligated to keep your data confidential and secure. We do not share your display name or device information (we do not collect this) with any third parties.

5. User Choices and Control

• Display Name: You can choose your display name at the time of account creation.
• Audio Recordings: You can request the deletion of all your audio clips stored on our servers using the special page: https://facethemusicapp.com/delete/data. A request is processed immediately after clicking the confirmation link sent to you by email.

6. Data Security

We take security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure, including using secure servers and encryption technologies. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
